FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESKHello Blue Devils,
2017 has brought changes to Milwaukee Public Schools, with high school starting early on August 14th, and a new uniform policy. Our “First Day of School Pep Rally” was a success with Alumni, Friends and North Staff welcoming and encouraging students to work hard and have a great school year. Uniforms are required in most schools, however parents may opt out. It appeared that that majority of students at North are wearing the North gear, blue shirts with black slacks. The North staff also has school “gear”. |
One of the goals of the uniforms is to increase School Spirit, which will hopefully lead to an increase in school pride, increased student attendance, character and academic achievement. The Alumni board continues to collaborate with the school administration to realize our Mission of returning North Division to a school of high academic standards and results. This summer, the board worked collaboratively with school administration/staff to plan for the 2017/2018 school year. In addition to a focus on raising academic results, the Board will focus on creating strategies to improve parental involvement.
As we close out 2017, your Board of Directors continues to need membership support, please consider volunteering for a project or serving on a committee. Please refer to the volunteer link to sign up.
